My name is Ellen, I am the Treasurer of Early Connections – Coffs Coast Volunteer Management Committee & also Mum to my gorgeous son Billy who is six years old and has a rare genetic condition.
I have been involved as a Client of Early Connections since 2019 and as a member of the Volunteer Management Committee since 2020. I am writing to you because we need more volunteers to sit on the Early Connections Coffs Coast Volunteer Management Committee and my experience has been so wonderful I am asking other parents to consider volunteering.
I know how busy young families are but volunteering with the Management Committee has afforded me so many wonderful opportunities:
- The time contribution is minimal (1 meeting a month, held in the evenings)
- Professional and Personal development opportunities from sitting on a Management Committee
- The opportunity to network and collaborate with like minded individuals
- A sense of personal satisfaction by giving back to the Coffs Harbour community and the wonderful team at Early Connections
- A deeper understanding of how Early Connections operates
If you are interested in joining the Management Committee and would like more information please contact Caryn or Stacey on 66528080

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh congratulates the team at Early Connections-Coffs Coast on their $27,500 State Government grant.
Mr Singh said the funding, under the Community Building Partnership 2020 program, will help deliver their Outdoor Play, Education and Therapy Environment project.
“This will focus on the development of their outdoor areas, including construction of natural learning environments for education and therapy for children and families with key workers, teachers and therapists,” Mr Singh said.
“This playground project is based on the belief that engaging with children in natural play spaces is best practice . “Families can learn and practice skills and strategies in a safe environment.” Mr Singh said the program at Early Connections-Coffs Coast aims to support families to become resilient, confident and capable participants in their community.
“Their mission is to offer a holistic program of life-changing early childhood intervention support through education, therapy, coaching and modelling,” Mr Singh said.
“Early Connections has a family centred approach and creates a team around each child and family who work together to develop and implement goals for the families.
“Their program, which supports 135 children and families from the Coffs Harbour and Bellingen local government areas, is changing lives for the better.”

Thank you #TelstrasConnectedCommunities. Early Connections were thrilled to receive a cheque for $2,000 to support Early Connections Coffs Coast.
Our organisation was chosen as one of three local non profits to benefit from the Connected Communities Campaign.
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us in store. Pictured Early Connections Speech Pathologist Kate Goulter (left) accepting a cheque from Telstra’s Tabetha at Park Beach Plaza Store.
Since 1981 we’ve made connections with hundreds of children and families on the Mid North Coast through the Early Childhood Interventions Programs.
In 2016, with the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme we formed an Alliance to meet the growing needs of our community
Today, our teams work together to create a strong and connected Early Childhood Intervention Network on the Mid North Coast.
Thanks to the support of businesses like Telstra we can continue to offer specialist services to children with disabilities.
