This week, from August 25 to 31, we were excited to celebrate Speech Pathology Week at Early Connections and thank our amazing speech pathologists who help our young children improve their communication skills.

The Important Work of Our Speech Pathologists

Our ‘Speechies’ do incredible work every day helping children who have trouble communicating. By providing early support, they make a big difference in the lives of children and families.

Early Intervention Matters

Research shows that early identification is crucial for children with speech and language challenges. When we address these issues early, it helps children communicate better, do well in school, and make friends.

What Our Speech Pathologists Do

Our speech pathologists offer many services, including:

  • Teaching children how to understand and use language
  • Supporting social skills and communication with others
  • Helping children speak clearly
  • Assisting with eating and swallowing difficulties

Celebrating Our Team

During Speech Pathology Week, we want to say a big thank you to our dedicated speech pathologist team. Their hard work and passion for helping children is inspiring.

A Day in Their Lives

Every day, our speech pathologists work with children and their families. Delivering face to face supports in each family’s natural environment, creating personalised intervention plans, and teaming up with families and other professionals.

Working Together

We work in partnership with client families and collaborate with other specialists, like occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and Early Childhood Intervention teachers. We have a great relationship with our local preschools and are so grateful to work in partnership with them.

“The Lower Macleay Preschool are always so grateful for the fantastic support from the speech pathologists at Kempsey Early Connections,” said Debbie Dillion, Lower Macleay Preschool.

Our team around the child approach focuses on communication, relationships and building a connected team around each child and family.

Looking Forward

As we celebrate Speech Pathology Week, we are grateful for our Speechies and the positive impact they make giving children the confidence to thrive.

Thank you to all our wonderful speech pathologists at Early Connections.

Happy Speech Pathology Week!
