Early Connections Kempsey (formerly Kempsey Early Intervention Program INC) is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join our team. Our staff of 12 includes skilled EC teachers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologist and Allied Health Assistants who will offer a supportive environment for our new staff member.
Our team is skilled in the Early Childhood Intervention field, using a “Team around the Child”, family centred approach across the beautiful Macleay Valley region. The position offers a family friendly flexible workplace.
Early Connections Kempsey is the leading service provider within the region servicing children from 0-12 years with a diagnosed disability or significantly delayed development. Our mission is to provide a quality early childhood intervention service, which works in partnership with families and the community to improve each child’s participation in inclusive mainstream environments in the Macleay area. We are a registered NDIS Service Provider.
This position is 4-5 days per week position with over award pay and conditions of the Clerks – Private Sector Award 2010 [MA000002] .

The role:
- Support the Manager and frontline staff by managing the day to day finance & operations functions.
- Responsible for the ongoing delivery of efficient internal financial controls and processes.
- Preparation of month end reconciliations and Management Accounts.
- Process payroll
- Support and implementation of systems and improvements in a growing organisation.
- Support decision makers with financial analysis and projections
- Oversee and manage financial claiming and processing within the NDIS system
The Financial Manager will also be responsible for NDIS Plan Management which supports participants in managing their NDIS funding. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial administration of participants’ plans while providing clear guidance and excellent customer service to clients and providers.
Key Responsibilities of NDIS Plan Management
- Manage NDIS participant funding in line with approved plans and NDIS guidelines
- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Monitor budgets and provide regular statements and updates to clients
- Liaise with NDIS participants, service providers, and support coordinators
- Ensure compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards requirements
- Resolve billing queries and discrepancies professionally
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support clients to understand and effectively use their NDIS funding
The successful candidate for this position will have:
- Experience in NDIS Plan Management, disability services, or financial administration (preferred)
- Strong understanding of NDIS funding categories and guidelines (or willingness to learn)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
- Have relevant qualifications, Degree/Diploma of Accountancy and/or Financial Management
- Have excellent communication and documentation skills using technology effectively
- Possess commercial expertise and background (desirable not essential)
- Possess BAS & GST compliance experience.
- Experience with MYOB
- Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
- Ability to participate in the organisations Management Team and assist the Manager in organisational decision making
- Have a minimum 2 years’ experience in finance administration
- Ability to organise time and set priorities.
