Early Connections is seeking an Occupational Therapist. Be part of a large transdisciplinary team specialising in the best practice Key Worker – Team around the child model. About the position

- Provide assessments, interventions and therapy to children 0-12 years with a diverse range of disabilities
- Visits to the home, child care and school environments to provide an inclusive model of practice. Early Connections has extensive existing relationships within the community.
- Opportunity to be a Key Worker within a transdisciplinary model and to provide consultation to Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists and Early Childhood Educators and families.
- Educational sessions for parents, teachers, preschool staff
The successful candidate will:
- Have relevant qualifications and registered with AHPRA and membership with OT Australia.
- Commitment to Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention, inclusive practice, family centred approach to service delivery
- Have excellent communication and documentation skills using technology effectively
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Have a minimum 2 years’ experience in disability or paediatrics (desirable not essential)
- Knowledge or willingness to adopt a routine based therapy strategies to facilitate child development
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence based practice including use of the COPM (Canadian Occupational Performance Measure) model.
- Ability to organise time and set priorities
- A fundamental understanding of child development
- NDIS worker check
While we have a fleet of work vehicles some travel is required and your own car and a current driver’s licence are a pre-requisite for the position. A current Working with Children Check and Police Check is also required.
