We are seeking a Paediatric Physiotherapist to join the Early Connections – Coffs Coast Team.

The core purpose of this role is to deliver physiotherapy interventions and treatments to children 0 -6 years. This role is also responsible for the coordination of the Gumnuts Program. This program is a unique part of Early Connections – Coffs Coast’s charitable services to the community. When children are born prematurely or experiencing complication at birth and are potentially at risk of disability / developmental delay, they are referred to this Program by the Special Care Nursery. Importantly, this role connects with families at this vulnerable time and monitors infants’ development providing suggestions and support to families in the first 12 – 18 months.

Early Connections – Coffs Coast employs a team of 21 Early Childhood Intervention professionals including Early Childhood Intervention Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapist, Counsellor and Allied Health Assistants. Our team collaborates to draw from each discipline’s knowledge, skills and experience to create a Team Around each Child and Family.

Early Connections – Coffs Coast is a registered NDIS provider delivering Early Childhood Intervention, education, therapy, and support for children and their families. Our program supports families with infants and children 0 – 6 years with developmental delays or children living with a disability. We work in partnership with families using a Key Worker model, which focuses on relationships and building a connected team around each child and family.

Feeling safe and secure with familiar adults and a sense of connection is essential for creating optimum environments for children’s learning, early childhood development and achieving NDIS goals.

We also know that children learn best in their natural environments where they are most comfortable. Therefore, we deliver the program across multiple community environments including our purpose built centre, family homes, preschools and early childhood education settings, community pools and playgrounds.

The successful candidate will have:

  • University physiotherapy qualifications and current AHPRA registration
  • A commitment to Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention, inclusive practice, family centred approach to service delivery
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills using technology effectively
  • The ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Good time management and organisational skills, including the capacity to set own priorities and goals
  • Proven previous experience with assessments, CRM, report writing and client notes
  • A sound understanding of infant and child development.
  • Current driver’s license. Travel will be required in your own car for the role. Comprehensive car insurance are a pre-requisite for the position.
  • A current Working with Children Check, NDIS Workers Check and First Aid Certificate is also required. (or willingness to acquire)
  • Part Time status will be negotiated on employment and may be dependent on applicants’ level of experience.
  • Position will be permanent following 6 month probation period.
